Bike Travel Pattern Analysis for Station Free Bike Sharing System in Suwon

Abstract

Suwon city has firstly introduced a Dockless Bike Sharing System. This study analyzed the bike usage status, travel characteristics, and path analysis of data from the related operators for one week from September 10 to 16, 2018. Data analysis included the number of bicycle users, bicycle utilization rate, average usage time, distribution of rent / return area, weekday and weekday usage patterns. The number of bicycle users has increased from February 22, 2018 to 2,764 in June and 15,635 in September after the first introduced in February 2018. The utilization rates of shared bicycles were 53.7-64.8% range, which is 3,170 vehicles (63.4%) for weekday averages and 2,745 vehicles (54.9%) for weekends. The average time of shared bikes was 12-13 minutes, and it was analyzed that the shortest distance of about 4-4.5km was used at the average bicycle average speed of 20km/h. The number of early shared bicycle users was higher on weekends than on weekdays, However, the data showed that there are lot of users in weekend. It means that the shared bicycle has become a means of daily living such as commuting, and public transportation links, although there are many users for leisure and leisure purposes on weekends. As a result of analyzing the rental-return, an usage was high in the residential areas such as Jeongja, Cheoncheon, Homasil, Yeongtong. In addition, according to the Origin-Destination path analysis, it is possible to freely select various starting and ending points of a short distance within same travel attribute zones focused on the blind spot where the public transportation service could not be reached. Considering the positive aspects of its system, it should be encouraged to avoid excessive regulation and it is necessary to construct related infrastructure such as parking facilities on the areas where usage is active. The result of this study was expected to contribute to making policy for expanding to its sharing system.

최근 이슈가 되고 있는 스테이션 없는 공유자전거를 수원시가 전국 최초로 도입하여 운영 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 관련 운영사로 부터 2018년 9월 10일 부터 16일의 1주일간의 데이터를 구득하여 이용현황분석과 통행특성, 이동경로분석을 수행하였다. 데이터 분석은 자전거 이용자수, 자전거 가동율, 평균이용시간, 대여 ‧ 반납 지역 분포, 주말 및 주중 이용 패턴 등을 수행하였다. 자전거 이용자수의 경우 최초 도입한 2018년 2월 이후, 일평균 기준 2018년 2월 22명, 6월 2,764명, 9월 15,635명으로 증가하고 있다. 공유자전거 가동율은 현재 운영 중인 5,000대를 기준으로 평일평균의 경우는 3,170대(63.4%), 주말평균의 경우는 2,745대(54.9%)로 53.7-64.8%의 가동율을 보였다. 공유자전거 평균이용시간은 12-13분으로 자전거 평균 주행속도 20km/h 기준으로 환산시 평균 약 4-4.5km의 단거리를 이용하는 것으로 분석되었다. 초기 공유자전거 이용자는 주중보다 주말에 많았으나, 데이터 분석결과 주말 뿐만 아니라 주중 이용자 모두 많은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 공유자전거가 주말의 레져 ‧ 여가 목적의 이용자도 많지만 이제는 통근 ‧ 통학, 대중교통연계 등 생활교통수단으로 자리매김한 것으로 사료된다. 대여 ‧ 반납 기준 분석 결과, 자전거 인프라 구축 및 정비사업이 추진된 정자 ‧ 천천지구, 호매실지구, 권선 ‧ 매탄 ‧ 영통지구 등 주거지역과 상업지역인 정자 ‧ 인계동, 업무시설 밀집지역을 중심으로 공유자전거 이용률이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 공유자전거 이동경로 및 동별 기종점 OD분석결과 스테이션 없는 공유자전거의 통행패턴의 경우 단거리의 다양한 출발점과 도착점을 자유롭게 선택할 수 있어 대중교통시스템과 연계한 first mile과 last mile를 담당할 수 있는 시스템으로 활용 가능성이 높은 것을 확인할 수 있다. 동별 기종점 경로분석결과 대부분 해당 동에서 내부통행이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 가장 중요한 것은 공유자전거의 긍정적 측면을 고려하여 과도한 규제는 지양하고 시민편의 증진에 기여토록 유도해야한다. 데이터분석결과는 스테이션 없는 민영 공유자전거 이용활성화 정책에 기여할 것으로 사료된다.
