Impact Analysis in Spatial Use Changes by COVID: Focusing on Shared Bicycles COVID에 따른 공간적 이용 변화 영향 분석: 공유자전거를 중심으로

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transition in transportation caused by COVID-19. The study focuses on a shared bicycle ‘Ttareungyi’ in Seoul and its spatial characteristics. Data on shared bicycles in Seoul from 2019 to 2020 are used to analyze the change in use of shared bicycles. We collect the number of daily rentals by each rental station, and the weather data and COVID-19 data are also collected as variables related to use of shared bicycles. We conduct regression analysis to figure out the relationship between COVID-19 and the use of shared bicycle, and spatial analysis methods are used to analyze spatial characteristics. As a result, we find that the use of shared bicycles increases as the level of social distancing reinforced. In addition, the rate of change in the use of shared bicycles forms a spatial cluster pattern. The rate is larger in areas with a larger population, and smaller in areas where offices are concentrated. It can be seen that the use of transportation relies on the government’s policies and social situations, and the changes are related to local characteristics. Therefore, it is important to consider the local characteristics to promote eco-friendly transportation successfully.

본 연구는 COVID-19로 인해 발생한 교통 측면의 변화를 분석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 다양한 교통수단 중, 서울시 공유자전거 ‘따릉이’를 중심으로 그 이용 변화를 분석하였으며, 추가적으로 공간적 특성을 검토하였다. 공유자전거 이용의 변화를 분석하기 위하여, 2019년과 2020년의 서울시 공유자전거 데이터를 활용하였다. 대여소별 일일 대여횟수를 수집하였으며, 공유자전거 이용에 영향을 주는 변수로 기상 관련 변수와 COVID-19 관련변수를 수집하였다. COVID-19와 따릉이 이용의 상관관계를 분석하기 위하여 회귀분석을 사용하였으며, 공간적으로 나타나는 특성을 분석하기 위하여 공간분석 기법을 활용하였다. 분석결과, 사회적 거리두기 수준이 강화됨에 따라 공유자전거 이용이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 공유자전거 이용 변화율은 공간적인 군집패턴을 보였다. 공유자전거 이용 변화율은 주거인구가 많은 지역일수록 크게 나타났고, 사업체가 밀집한 지역에서는 작게 나타났다. 정부의 정책 및 사회적 상황에 따라 교통수단 이용의 변화가 발생하며, 그 변화는 지역적 특성과 관련됨을 알 수 있다. 따라서, 친환경 수단의 활성화 정책을 성공적으로 추진하기 위해서는, 지역의 특성을 고려하는 것이 중요하다.
