Abstract

In the traditional four-step travel demand forecasting process, the mode choice process is determined by the utility function of choice models. The most widely used explanatory variables for estimating the utility of each mode are travel time and travel cost. Despite the fact that individual travel speeds or travel times are now generated and collected in real-time, the utilization of this data in travel demand modeling has been limited. The study explores a methodology to improve the estimation of relative bus travel time index of transportation demand analysis model using Open API services from a cloud mapping platform provided by a portal site and comparing these times across modes. Additionally, the study statistically tests the differences in travel speeds between passenger cars and buses based on the five Korean metropolitan region. In conclusion, this research is expected to contribute to a more realistic analysis of public transportation demand and benefit assessment in metropolitan areas by proposing reasonable improvements to mode choice models through the analysis of empirical data.

전통적인 4단계 교통수요예측 과정에서 수단분담 과정은 로짓모형으로 대표되는 선택모형의 효용함수에 의해 결정되며, 수단별 효용의 추정을 위해 가장 널리 사용되는 설명변수는 통행시간과 통행비용이다. 최근 모든 개인의 통행속도 또는 통행시간이 실시간으로 생성 및 수집되는 환경에도 불구하고 교통수요모형 연구에 있어 이러한 자료의 활용은 제한적이었다. 본 연구는 포털 사이트의 클라우드 지도플랫폼 서비스에서 제공하는 Open API를 활용하여 존간 통행시간을 집계하고, 이를 수단별로 비교하는 과정을 통해 교통수요 모형의 버스통행시간 상대지표를 개선하기 위한 방법론을 모색하였다. 또한 이 과정에서 5대 광역시를 기준으로 승용차와 버스 통행속도의 차이를 통계적으로 검증하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 실측자료의 분석을 통해 합리적인 수단분담 모형 개선 방향을 제시함으로써, 보다 현실에 가까운 대도시권 대중교통 수요분석과 편익 산정에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
