A Study on Improvement of Seoul Bike Sharing Service Usage Rate based on Network Centrality Analysis: Focused on Jongno-gu in Seoul

Abstract

While the user and infrastructure are being continuously expanded, the service usage rate of rental sites is getting wider and the usage rate for economical service operation needs to be improved. In this paper, we propose a method to select the number of rental bicycles using network centrality index to improve the usage rate of service. From the results of the study, it is found that it is effective to select the proper number of bicycles for each rental site to improve the service usage rate, and it is necessary to select the number of bicycles by considering the spatial center characteristic of the service region.

따릉이 서비스는 이용자 및 인프라 부문의 지속적인 확대가 이루어지고 있는 반면, 대여소별 이용실적의 편차는 심화되어 경제적인 서비스 운영을 위한 이용률 개선이 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문은 따릉이 서비스의 이용률 개선을 위해 네트워크 중심성 지표를 활용한 대여소별 자전거 보유대수 선정 방안을 제안하였으며, 선정된 보유대수를 적용한 결과 기존 이용률 대비 55% 이상 개선된 것을 확인하였다. 연구결과로부터 따릉이 서비스 이용률 개선을 위해 대여소별 적정 자전거 보유대수를 선정하는 것이 효과적이며, 대여소별 자전거 보유대수는 서비스 지역의 공간적인 중심성 특성을 고려하여 선정하는 것이 필요하다는 결과를 도출하였다.
